Its 3.45am and we are under the cover of darkness.  I’m in the landing boat crammed in like a can of sardines.”BOOM! My heart was pounding.  I was shaking all over.  I couldn’t move.  I was frozen with fear.  Suddenly there was a massive flash of light.

Bang! I could smell everyone's fear.  I want to get out of this boat to shoot people.  I was holding onto my gun firmly.  I tried to shoot  but my gun wasn't working.

We were about one kilometre away from the landing zone.  I felt an incredible pain in my leg. I  ducked down to dodge the bullets. One bullet flew past my ear. We heard soldiers screaming from the other boats shouting “HELP US, HELP US!” as they were drowning in the sea.

I knew we were the last survivors……..

I am learning to write an interesting recount.
I am so proud of making my recount interesting by using similes and adjectives.
It can be tricky to the right adjectives for the right sentence.
My buddy can help me by checking my work.
The next step for me in my learning is to find an interesting topic for me to write about.
